Keep My Light Burning

For our friends and family

Yesterday, Mark and I met with Dr. Aggarwal to get her reaction to all of my scans. She was very pleased with the brain scan and under arm scan results. On my other scan, however, there appeared to be a very small spot on my liver in the same area it was last year. So…can you guess??…I have to get another MRI next week of my liver to see what’s really going on. This test is scheduled for next Tuesday, with results coming a week later. Nobody is too worried about this spot yet because it is so small, and by watching it we’ll be able to determine if I need other chemo (I think).

Can I just say that I’m tired of getting scanned every other week? This process drives all of us nuts! I’m grateful for tests that can help diagnosis the need for treatment, but I feel like a pin cushion and it creates a lot of stress for our family each time. My doctor is doing her job very well, and God keeps providing the gift of healing for these occurrences. But, my patience is being tested AGAIN.

Because I haven’t given up hope for a long life, I needed to re-enter my graduate studies at IPFW and try to finish them up. I started classes again this semester, and I love it! There’s something exhilerating about being with my cohort of classmates again and working on learning. They have all accepted me back with open arms and made me feel like I never left. The faculty have also been great. If I can keep up with the classes I need to take, then I’ll graduate with my master’s in Educational Leadership next May.

Thanks for your continued concern and support. You constantly encourage us with your comments and prayers.

Sandy

    Sandy,

I check in with your blog every once in awhile and continue to be amazed at all God has done. Through trials of my own, I keep thinking of that children’s song, “God is bigger than the Boogie Man,” . . .He truly is and proves it every day. In your case, His works are so visible – and how awesome it is for you to share His wonder! I continue to pray for you, Brenda Sagstetter
